Know Your Stars

Know Your Stars

Stars are given out to each player and cheerleader at the end of games to recognize how they participated in the game.  Here is the description of each star.  You will also find instructions on ironing the stars on to your t-shirts.

Basketball

  • Blue star represents Effort
  • Gold star represents Sportsmanship
  • Gray star represents Offense
  • Red star represents Defense
  • White star represents Christlikeness
  • Green star represents Scripture Memory

Ironing Stars

  1. Make sure you are putting them on the t-shirt, as putting them on the jersey can ruin the jersey.
  2. Upward suggests ironing them on by pre-warming the shirt, then placing a handkerchief between the iron and the star.  Some parents prefer hot-gluing them on.
  3. For both of these methods, the stars do have trouble hanging on in the dryer, so you may consider hang drying.
  4. If you have the time and the gift, the most successful form of star adhesion has been sewing.
  5. Most importantly, praise your children for what they did to get the star in the first place.
